Welcome to Peace Lutheran Church

Peace is not only our name; it's what we're about.

As a community of forgiven people who have experienced the peace of God that only He gives through His Son, Jesus Christ, we invite you to experience and celebrate that peace with us. Through worship and education we strengthen our personal relationship with the God of peace. We are, then, equipped to bring this message of Christ's peace with us in our daily lives as individuals, and as a congregation, as we serve the Waverly community in a multitude of ways.

Our vision is to be a thriving, Christ-centered church, boldly equipping people of all ages and stages, through life-transforming worship, education and mission experiences to fearlessly serve the Triune God in the community.

Find Purpose. Find Belonging. Find Peace.

Sermon Topic for March 7, 2021

God sent Jeremiah to warn the people about the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple due to their sin.  If they confessed their sin, God would forgive them and spare them.  For Jeremiah’s faithful proclamation, he is arrested and tried for treason (a capital crime).  Hard hearts resist every overture of mercy from God and ignore all His warnings of impending judgment. God’s heart longs to forgive sinners, even though they resist His Word and murder His prophets.  Today, know that the Lord has set His heart on you.  Call on Him in repentance and faith, through Christ.

People have always looked for guidance to understand the issues they face in their lives. At one time, people looked to institutions like the church for this support. In today’s digital age, people increasingly go online to learn, connect, and even build relationships.  The message of Jesus is still relevant in this digital space. To that end, check out THRED here.
